It’s time for a change.

Looking back at all I’ve done, I realize just how much of it was trivial: the countless video games that I have beaten; the effort I’ve put into card games of any form; the time I’ve wasted on art simply to become better than “the next guy;” the time I’ve spent doing nothing at all, while thinking I was doing something that mattered…

…the list goes on.

It’s time for a change.

It seems that my life is going in a direction I don’t want it to. It seems that I need to grab my life by the throat and yell into its face, “What the hell are you doing, you fool?” It seems that I do all that I can and it is never enough.

It seems that no matter what I do, life has it’s own ideas.

It’s time for a change.

Apparently I’m not good enough. Apparently I’m too good for them. Apparently I need to get my act together. Apparently I need to concentrate less.

Apparently the world is full of paradoxes.

It’s time for a change.

I am not changing. I am not growing. I am not able to function in this world as a normal person would. I am not one to argue. I am not simply another clone. I am not the person everyone wants me to be. I am not the person I want to be. I am not satisfied with the way my life is going. I am not able to do anything about how my life is going.

I am not able to be myself.

It’s time for a change.

I will become that which I have set out to be:

One who believes in himself. One who understands the concept of priority. One who needs to depend on others only because he knows he needs to. One who can, will, and shall. One who needs to grow, to change, to become something different and new and original and everything he wants it to be. One who can relish a moment of silence. One who can appreciate the world for what it is.

One who believes he can, and therefore will.

It’s time for a change.

When I return I will be a changed man. When I return I shall be more understanding. When I return I will attempt to understand the world for what it is meant to mean. When I return I will be the one that others look to as a leader. When I return I will be understand the limits of my abilities. When I return I will pass those boundaries.

When I return, I shall have bathed in the font of fire and risen anew, just as the phoenix does.

It’s time for a change.

I am determined. I am balanced. I am in full understanding of what I am about to do. I am seemingly fleeting, actually everlasting. I am the one that shall lead the way. I am the one who will expand the horizons. I am he who will journey outward. I am prepared for the unknown. I am prepared for that which I do know. I am shaping my reality. I am becoming a new person.

I am ready.

It’s time for a change.

The person you see before you…is no more. He has come and gone, to be replaced by one who is strong, determined, prepared, confident, and, last but not least, all that he was before.

The person you see before you…is who he will forever be. He is not one to be trifled with. He is not one to block. He is one who will stand out and force his way through the mists until he reaches his goal.

The person you see before you…is terrified. He is unsure if he is capable of accomplishing his task. He is afraid that his efforts may be in vain. He is frightened of what he may become. He is scared that he will fail and look stupid.

The person you see before you…is determined. He is ready to take the plunge. He is powerful. He is capable. He is confident. He does not care if he looks stupid.

The person you see before you…is trapped. He has nowhere else to run. He has no-one else to turn to. He has used up all of his lifelines. He has “outgrown that fucking lullaby.” He has murdered his past. He has endangered his future. He has destroyed his present.

The person you see before you…will be reborn. He is like a phoenix rising from dying ashes, raising his head up high as the flames engulf what once was, only to replace himself with a newly created being. He sorrows for the self that once was, but knows that this is the only way left.

It’s time for a change.
Rebirth, renewal, restart.
